Standish Celebrates New Bus Shelter
Standish Parish Councillors gathered on Sunday, 3rd November, to celebrate the bus shelter they have had installed on the edge of the parish near Stonehouse. Several months in the planning, the bus shelter is constructed from FSC certified timber and toughened glass, and will give much-needed shelter to the many local residents who catch the bus here. Parish councillors are very grateful for match funding from the County Council and for smaller contributions from Stonehouse Town Council and Aqua, the Standish Gate developers.
Sue Hartley, Chair of Standish Parish Council, said “Special thanks are due to Cllr Jackie Knights, who has led the work to get the bus shelter installed. We are sure that it will be a major benefit to residents of Standish and Stonehouse who use this bus stop and will, hopefully, encourage others to utilise public transport. We are grateful for the many positive comments we have received about this valuable provision.”
